A Digital Journey to the Past

Historical Markers Come Alive

QistoRia is a work in progress, and is scheduled to be completed by 2023.

We are a self-sustaining Social Enterprise, an Education Technology (EduTech) Startup brought forth by the Founders passion for understanding and sharing lessons in Philippine History and Culture to the younger ones through technology.

QistoRia is an ambitious 5-Year Project that aims to link all on-site historical and cultural markers found on the National Registry of Historic Sites and Structures in the Philippines by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) to a database of all available online contents including articles, photographs, videos and updated write ups for each specific marker subject all-over the Philippines and abroad.

Qistoria is a full website, with a FREE-TO-USE mobile device application software that bridges and brings all available digital content to your mobile phones and other devices, when doing a scan of a Quick Response (QR) Code attached or within the immediate vicinity of an actual Historical or Cultural Marker found on site, anywhere in the Philippines and abroad.

The QR Codes work best for both Android and iOS (Apple) based mobile devices.

Even at home or at school, users can go on a digital historical tour locating all documented Markers on a special map with links to additional information on the locality where a marker is physically located, see interesting places and read on a few trivia entries about the place.

In the near future, users may be able to earn points and achievement badges each time they complete a "Milestone Challenge". Their profiles and badges featured in a special section here.

Points earned can be converted and exchanged for books, school supplies, cellphone loads, and QistoRia merchandise. We will be working on ways for users to be able to exchange points for free meals, free stays, and free passes that can be availed from our partner restaurants, hotels, recreation centers, and resorts in their areas. Cool?

There are over a thousand Historical and Cultural Markers spread out on sites allover the Philippine Archipelago.

Some can even be found overseas in Guam, Berlin in Germany, Hongkong, and in many more countries abroad.

Our mission, within the next 5 years, is to locate, document, geo-tag through GPS, link all on-site markers to all collated, updated information online, and deliver them right into each user's mobile device for free.
